Great hike, nice forest
This was most definitely NOT a hideout for Al Capone and other gangsters. It was owned by the Joyces who were lumber barons as a summer retreat. I personally knew the guy who was the last grounds keeper and his father was the original one. Previous review is grossly inaccurate. I was at this place some months after Beatrice Joyce died and it was spectacular.
Although I haven't made it all the way back in, we loved the beauty of the trails. We will definitely be back to find out the beauty at the end of the trail that everybody talks about.
